Sapphire Single Crystal Growth

Synthetic sapphire is a single crystal form of alpha alumina (corundum), i.e., sapphire is aluminium oxide in the purest form with no porosity or grain boundaries. The combination of favourable chemical, electrical, mechanical, optical, surface, thermal, and durability properties make sapphire a preferred material for high performance systems and components. For various semiconductor applications, sapphire is the best choice, when compared with other synthetic single-crystals. We supply alumina to sapphire manufacturers as granules, pucks and powders. We have recently expanded our offer for pucks to include large monoliths (our “super pucks”)  up to  20 cm in diameter and 10 cm in thickness, dimensions that we can further adapt to customer needs. Like all our products, our alumina for sapphire production is characterized by a level of purity that ranges between 99.99% and 99.999%. Our super pucks are particularly interesting for the sapphire manufacturers because they deliver considerable savings in terms of labour cost and process yield.
